LIVE ENVIRONMENTJay ShinSoftware Engineer
I'm a software engineer with 6+ years of experience building production C++/Linux systems, distributed software, and cross-platform applications. Now pursuing an M.S. in Artificial Intelligence at Santa Clara University, I'm bringing that engineering foundation into AI and ML systems.
The engineering foundation
Six years in production. Systems that connect.
Tools that make a whole team better.
Hanwha Vision
Architecture, scale, and the systems that keep teams moving.
Hanwha Vision
Production software across platforms, toolchains, and time zones.
CodeBridge
Practical software and AI-tool courses reaching 2,000+ learners.
Selected work
Professional case studies from six years of building and maintaining systems at Hanwha Vision.
Smaller, hands-on projects where I explore AI agents, AI workflows, RAG, and enterprise AI / AX. Each is a focused prototype or independent tool with a specific engineering lesson.
Retrieves company knowledge to trace policy-change impacts, flag exceptions, and draft actions for human approval.
A collaborative payment-risk prototype built at the Flower Collaborative Agent Hackathon at Stanford.
Reusable engineering review and architecture skills for Claude Code workflows.
A 90-day preparation experience for international students, built for the Google Stitch Challenge.
The next chapter
Reliable software is the foundation of useful AI.
I'm pursuing an M.S. in Artificial Intelligence at Santa Clara University, extending my production engineering background into AI and ML systems.
Alongside graduate study, I build hackathon MVPs and independent tools to explore AI agents, RAG, and enterprise AI / AX. These smaller projects give me hands-on experience connecting retrieval, workflow orchestration, and human review to useful products.

Alongside my systems work, I've developed, deployed, and maintained Flutter mobile applications, taking products from idea to release. My public GitHub also includes web prototypes and developer tools.
Behind the outpost
I care about how software fits together: the boundaries between components, the tools behind a good build, and the people who have to maintain it.
After more than six years building production software and distributed systems, I'm expanding that foundation into AI and machine learning. I'm based in the San Francisco Bay Area.
